Emese Balint is Marie Curie Research Fellow at the European University Institute, Florence, where she's working on the project: “Transnational Networking, Knowledge Circulation and Technological Change in Early Modern East Central Europe. The Case of Hutterite Artisans (c.1560-1720)”, and on the written Sources of the Hutterite Communities in East Central Europe.

Her research interests include the social control in early modern Europe, the linguistic and cultural minorities in Europe.

She is a member of the Renaissance Society of America, the NEH Institute (Networks and Network Analysis for the Humanities), the CHEP (An International Network for the Cultural History of Emotions) and the International Association for Hungarian Studies
